IV. Competition Details

This competition in international division has set up seven tracks, focusing on innovation and research and development, engineering implementation, disciplinary integration, and innovation and entrepreneurship development in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The details of the seven tracks are as follows.

1.Track 1: Algorithm & Model Innovation

This track focuses on the original innovation and breakthrough of the underlying algorithms of AI, and encourages the participating teams to explore new models and frameworks in the fields of artificial intelligence such as machine learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision, natural language processing, data mining, large models, and agents, or to conduct innovative optimizations on key indicators such as accuracy, efficiency, and energy consumption of existing algorithms and models. This track places importance on the innovation of algorithms/models, technological advancement and scientific value, and the breakthrough of the technical bottlenecks in practical scenarios. Cross-disciplinary integration of algorithm/model exploration is encouraged.

2.Track 2: AI + Software Innovation

This track focuses on promoting the engineering application of AI algorithms and software product innovation, and encourages the participating teams to transform AI technologies into software products with practical application value. Through the competition, a bridge is built between AI algorithms and software engineering, promoting the participating teams to master the full-process capabilities from technology research and development to product implementation, including requirement analysis, architecture design, development and testing, user experience optimization, etc.

3.Track 3: AI + Hardware Innovation

This track focuses on the collaborative innovation of AI algorithms and hardware, and encourages the participating teams to develop intelligent hardware products that are compatible with AI algorithms. This track aims to promote the efficient deployment of algorithms on hardware platforms through competitions and facilitate the widespread application of artificial intelligence technology in terminal devices. This track places importance on the innovation of hardware, algorithm adaptability and engineering feasibility, and encourages the development of smart hardware with high cost performance, high reliability and high market prospects in combination with specific scenarios.

4.Track 4: AI + Scenario Innovation

This track encourages the participating teams to keenly capture social and industry demands, technological trends and industrial pain points, and combine cutting-edge technologies such as large models and intelligent agents with AI software and hardware products to explore new AI applications, new AI services, new AI business forms and new AI models, and create scenario-based solutions with disruptive potential, social benefits or commercial potential.

5.Track 5: AI + Interdisciplinary Innovation

This track focuses on the deep integration and innovation of AI and interdisciplinary studies, and encourages the participating teams to base on a specific discipline or major (including science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, humanities, law, economics, and management), and apply AI technology to empower the core links of theoretical research, scientific exploration, teaching practice, experimental training, and self-study in the discipline. This track aims to promote the in-depth integration of AI technology with the characteristics of disciplines, explore new methods for discipline development, discover new knowledge in disciplinary fields, and cultivate new professional application skills.

6.Track 6: AI + Innovation & Entrepreneurship

This track focuses on the commercial transformation of AI scientific and technological achievements, and encourages the participating teams to take AI technology as the core, explore business opportunities, form entrepreneurial teams, and develop entrepreneurial projects with market potential. The track guides participants in integrating technological innovation with business needs, developing entrepreneurial skills such as writing business plans, market analysis, and business model design, connecting with investment and industry resources, and accelerating project incubation. This track places importance on the technological innovation, commercial feasibility and team execution ability of the project.

7.Track 7: AI + One Person Company (OPC)

This track focuses on the lightweight innovation model of AI and personal entrepreneurship, and encourages the participants to take themselves as the main body, use AI technology to explore the demands of niche markets, create products, services or business models with market potential, lower the threshold for entrepreneurship, and stimulate the innovative vitality of individuals. This track will guide the participants to deeply integrate AI technology with their personal strengths and market pain points, cultivate comprehensive ability to coordinate technology research and development, product design, market analysis and commercial implementation, and explore a new entrepreneurial path of “one person, one company”. This track places importance on technological innovation, market adaptability and individual execution ability of the project.

V. Schedule Arrangement

1.Registration and Submission

The email registration for the international division of AIC is officially open on September 15, 2026. The deadline for registration and submission of work materials for the international competition is 18:00 on November 15, 2026 (Beijing time). The time displayed in the sent email will be taken as the standard. Any materials submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Team registration and competition projects should all be submitted through the dedicated event email: AIC_Int_Div@163.com.

The email subject format should be: (Title of the Work) + University Name.

Example: (Title of the Work) Hainan University.

List of materials to be submitted for AIC is as follows:

(1) Application form (written in English, Word format);

(2) Work proposal (technical proposal/business plan, written in English, PDF format);

(3) Foreign student status certificate (to be submitted by the team leader, in PDF format);

(4) The video files (optional, not exceed 50 MB).

Note that all the above template files can be found in the attachments.

Special reminder: The information on the team members, instructors and ranking of the participating teams shall be based on the final version submitted before the registration deadline. The subsequent information on the award certificates shall be based solely on this and will not be changed or modified.

2.Evaluation and Selection

The organizing committee of the competition will organize experts to review the materials of all submitted work. If the experts have any questions about the works during the review process, they will notify the participating teams in advance for online Q&A. The top 40% of the teams will be selected to the finals.

3.AIC Finals

The final round of the selected works will be evaluated in the form of online defense. The assessment process includes three sections: project presentation, expert Q&A, and re-check of work materials. The specific meeting link and defense time will be notified to the captains of each team via email.

VI. Competition Requirements

1.Contestants can form teams independently or form teams with other contestants from their own school (excluding branch schools). Each team can have a maximum of 3 members (cross-school teams are invalid). Each team can have a maximum of two instructors. After the registration deadline, the information of the team members and their instructors cannot be modified.

2.Each team designates one captain as the sole contact person. All event notifications, review results, and advancement information will only be sent to the captain’s registration email. Please check the emails in a timely manner.

3.Each student can only join one participating team. Any student registered with more than one team will be disqualified from all entries.

4.The entries should be original works created by the participating teams during the current competition period. If any issues such as plagiarism, similarity, fraud, or unclear copyright are found in the works, the participating team’s qualification and awards will be directly revoked.

5.There is no registration fee for this AIC international competition.

VII. Award Setting

1.Awards for AIC Finals

The finals will have first, second and third prizes. Based on the total number of the valid works advancing to the finals, the number of winning works is, in principle, rounded to the nearest whole number at a ratio of no more than 15%, 25%, and 30%, respectively.

2.Certificates of Outstanding Instructors

The instructors of the teams that win the first prize in the finals will be awarded the certificates of outstanding instructors.
